Gustavo Petro accuses "mafia" of killing Colombian musicians

Colombian President Gustavo Petro on Monday accused an " international mafia strengthened " by the " war on drugs " of the deaths in Mexico of Colombian singers Bayron Sanchez Salazar , known artistically as B King, and Jorge Luis Herrera .
"They murdered our youth in the United States of Mexico . An international mafia strengthened by the stupid military and prohibitionist policy called ' war on drugs ', which they force upon humanity and Latin America. More young people murdered by an anti-drug policy that is not an anti-drug trafficking policy," Petro said in X.

The artists were found dead on Monday after being missing for several days in Mexico , amid a tour they were underway in the country.
- Media outlets such as El País and El Financiero cited sources from the State of Mexico Attorney General's Office , who confirmed the discovery of both musicians in this state , close to the Mexican capital .
According to local media , there was apparently a threatening message from a criminal gang next to the musicians ' bodies, although there is still no official information from the Prosecutor's Office on this.
On Thursday, Mexico City's Commission for the Search for Persons issued two wanted notices following the disappearance of both singers . They were last seen on September 16 in the luxurious Polanco neighborhood in the center of the country's capital, following a performance the previous weekend.
The last time Sánchez Salazar was heard from was that same day in the Polanco neighborhood of Mexico City, where he was supposedly with Herrera , known as Regio Clown .
